Wall-mount Electric Fireplace

Winter will be here before you know it and it's time to set the mood. Wall-mount electric fireplaces are the best thing we've found on the market since split wood if you're looking for a noninvasive addition to a room that doesn't already have a fireplace.

Mixed Tile

Dry wall can be drab on the eye. So why not use tile? Many interior designers and builders like ourselves now suggest backsplashing entire walls in places like master bathrooms in custom homes. Tile is easier to clean and when paired with a contrasting floor tile, it's a mix and match made in heaven.

Zero-Obstruction Views

We don't know how much a woodchuck might chuck if he could a woodchuck could chuck wood but wood is no object when it comes to rails these days. Why block the oceanfront and sound side views we have in our area when we could instead create zero-obstruction views?

Outdoor Showers

Out with the old? Wait! Why? One new trend that's made it's way back into custom home building around the East Coast is the good 'ole outdoor shower. So soak up some afternoon sun and don't worry about making a mess. Get outdoors.

Privacy Screens

Let a little light in. You don't have to block the neighbors with big fences or walls. Privacy screens are the perfect solution for creating your own oasis. It's time for a staycation!

Open Concept

Is this trend really new? No. Open concept is a word we've been hearing on HGTV for years now and we're hoping it's a word that'll stick in custom home building and renovations for a while because it just makes sense. No one wants to be secluded in a closed-off space. Make room and be open.

Unique Light Fixtures

The fastest way to make a room pop is to switch our your standard Home Depot or Lowe's light fixtures for something unique. It's amazing what just one fixture will do to brighten up a room!

Door Color

If you subscribe to Southern Living, you've seen this trend on at least every other magazine cover. Painting your front door with a sea foam green, marigold yellow, royal blue, fire engine red or any other pop of color is an easy first step to give your home a facelift.
